“These [small] communities are a sign of vitality within the Church, an instrument of formation and evangelization, and a solid starting point for a new society based on a civilization of love.”[1]
The Parish Core Community is engaged in one of the most exciting ministries in the Church: fulfilling John Paul II’s vision that each parish be a community made up of many small communities. The Core Community is the catalyst within the parish for the ongoing growth and development of small Christian
communities. [2]
The Parish Core Community forms community itself, fosters opportunities for developing the parish as a community of small communities, and ensures sound development and pastoral care of these communities.
The Parish Core Community materials will be of use to parish leaders, staff, and Core Communities for the ongoing growth and enhancement of the Core Community. Within this area, Core Community members are offered practical tools, creative ideas, and enriching input directed specifically toward their
needs.
